TargetScan - Pistol & Rifle App Reviews

Its an excellent quality app. The score scanning is easy and fast to process. The report is very useful as you can see all your impacts positions for each series. Every ISSF shooter should have it to monitor its progression. Especially with the decimal counting in senior categories.

Thats an excellent App, but needs to make possible set the caliber in the disciplines.

Sorry, the App have a lots of Problems. It cant count correktly. Have tried lots of diverents targets. I have allways less points. My Money is gone for a bad App.

A great tool for my training, but sadly thats all. Ive testet it with airgun, airrifle, sportrifle .22lr, sportgun .22lr and 9mm and there are many shots the program cant detect I hardly miss the possibility to mark non detected shots by my own or to correct the false one. I would need those features for competition. An update would be great and rated with 5stars. ;) Greetings from Germany.

Its not the first shooting app on my mobile, but its definitely the best! When you really want to improve you shooting capabilities, target scan is a real help

I higly recommend to buy also the shooters diary from the author to manage your results. For the diary you have to pay 7,99 Euros extra (16. January 2016). The price is acceptable because Im using the scanner and diary constantly. The scanner needs a good lighting behind and on the target to generate excellent summarys. Thank you for this nice little tool!

As an Olympic pistol shooter, I found v1.02 of this app to be a great start. First of all, the automated scoring works. Which is quite remarkable on its own. Since similar target scoring machines (from say, Rika) cost thousands of dollars. So to find a iPhone app that can do it is impressive. Because the scoring works, with continued development, I think this app can really become something special to air pistol shooters everywhere.

Works relatively well. There is no other program that does what this app does. Other programs need custom printed targets and scanners. This one uses standard targets and a quick photo. Developer is very responsive to questions. A few improvements will make this a killer app.

I find that the TargetScan App works nicely. Thomas is a pleasure to deal with and added the NRA 25-Ft Target that I asked for in under a week.

I help run a youth shooting program in Canadas Arctic. This app has helped bring our shooters scores from embarrassing to respectable in just afew short weeks. Only 4 stars, because we would like to group the targets by shooter rather than date / discipline. Otherwise, an excellent app!

I purchased this app a week ago to help track our Air Cadet shooting team scores and progress during practices. All I can say is wow! So much easier to score and see how they are doing at a glance. Coaching is a cinch, especially when you can see the history of their shots, where they may need some help and how theyre improving with each and every practice.

This app is now indispensable for my team training session. I can work with one shooter while the others can use the app and send me their results by e-mail. Even of I would like to save more information for my shooters and be able to evaluate grouping targets, this app is still worth more than what I paid for.

Does what it says, quickly and effectively. Using a camera to score works brilliantly; rarely needs correcting. Makes that part of tracking your results much more pleasant. iCloud syncing between devices is its biggest issue. Really needs a button to force that.

This is one of my favourite iOS apps. It makes calculating target scores instant and easy and it has allowed me to identify patterns in my target shooting that are not obvious when looking at individual targets. The analysis and scoring features are excellent. The App also allows me to keep a record of my gun sighting adjustments and see how these relate to patterns, groupings and scores. And the app allows export of shooting results via PDF to email. This is useful for coaching and analysis. If you are a competitive shooter, or just want to improve your shooting, you should be using this app. Money well spent.

Used it for 10m air pistol and rifle training, very useful for keeping record and tracking the progress. A must have for shooter.

Technically the app is excellent - my issue is with the programmers being inconsiderate of the users storing training history. The app has lost previous sessions twice now. Both times on an app upgrade. And nothing in the backup so I can recover the list sessions. I bought the shooters diary - but whats the point if you guys dont migrate the data when you upgrade the schema??

Updated review for new version: the same applies as before. Brilliant app, fantastic support. Id be willing to pay a lot more for multi-shooter tracking and statistics for each shooter. How much more? Lets negotiate but Im thinking $30 or $40! Great app. Worth the purchase. ------- This app is one of those gems that demonstrate the power of a smartphone. I find it unbelievable that it can score and track targets faster then it can be done manually. Id give this a 5 star rating if it was possible to properly track multiple shooters and compare their past performance against current shooting. As a team coach, that would make this a total success for my program. I must say Id be willing to pay extra for that ability. Best value for a program, even with the limitation I specified. I also agree that the author is very responsive (I asked for the Canadian Cadet Organization targets and he got it done FAST). Kudos to him and this app.
